A Forgotten Dream

8:40 AM 12/15/2007

Mm. I’m starting this post out with nothing in particular in mind. Just a ghost of the last post lingers, and the way I cleared things up.. it made alot of sense.

My times of sickness are hopefully over, and I hope to stay this way.

He says he’ll try and get back to drinking less. I believe him, maybe because I am a fool, or maybe because I am hopeful, and have faith in him. I just hope he doesn’t let me down. Again.

Anyways, on to a brighter subject, these days have been emotionally alright for me.. but I’m starting to reconsider what my true passions are, and what they make me. I know he doesn’t think highly of philosophy, but to be honest, there’s not much I can really do, being stuck here in a place like this. Always. To be honest, and I know I deny it most of the time, my dream was originally to be great. Not just great, but great in magical practice. It’s too late now.. my denial has caused me to steer forth another path, and that path is philosophy. The easy route out. If I was able, I would learn and practice everyday with or with someone else, until I was great..

But I’m already 15. Time is passing me by as I continue to deny my true dream. And I will continue denying it so, just so I can become somebody. A philosopher, is what I am now. And all I can ever will be.

Melody

I’m not sure why this post is called Melody. I started writing in it when I was listening to The Sacrifice, and I guess that’s where I got it from. I love the melody in this song, that’s why I’ve posted the lyrics beforehand.

I’m waiting for Fall to get back from feeding his cat, and text me. I miss him a lot, even though it’s only been about 15 minutes. My heart sings his melody.

I am revising my Outline of thoughts, to include things such as enlightenment, death, beauty, animal souls, mortification, and so on. I’ll have to post the new version later on today, when i finish it and broaden it. I want to someday write a book on my philosophies, someday soon. This is a good way to get started, I guess. I want to post a few things onto this blog.

I came across some ideas I liked, or agreed with and put some of them in my Outline. I want to explain them further in here. First, “there is no flux,” This is from Parmenides, the antiHeraclitus. He believed everything is stagnant. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Second, Plato’s Forms or Ideas. I partly agree with him, but it was an interesting idea. He believed that the physical reality of things are just shadows of the real essences of things. Plato believed in reincarnation; he said that the period before rebirth and after death is the period where we access all Forms, and we finally “get it.’” But when we hit the earth, we forget it all! Goody.

I don’t remember if I posted the post about Nous or not, I think AOL signed me off when I was typing it in. On my AOL profile, it begins with the word, “NOUS” and it has been like that for a very long time. By now, I’ve forgotten why I had it on there, or what it means. I came across it again, and remembered.. Of course, we all know about Aristotle and his causes. (I almost put “her causes” because the name Aristotle seems like a girl’s name to me, lol) The first cause, is what he defines as God, the unmoved mover. By his thinking, he concluded that God is pure Mind, which he called Nous. (Divine Mind)

This reminds me of something else, Apeiron. This was written on my shoes along with “I LOVE FALL” and was in profile a long time ago. Apeiron means The Boundless and was introduced by Anaximander, an old philosopher. (If you’re wondering why I’m still stuck in the Greeks and early philosophers, it’s because I’m restudying them in the order of time periods. I’ll get to the bigger philosophers later.) He believed all elements made up a more common element he called Apeiron (which in our case is sort of like matter, but you can interpret it differently) and believed all things arise from Apeiron, and all things return to Aperion. I believe we all return to the Divine in the end.

Next, I’d like to move forward to Epicureanism, and no this is not the couch potato philosophy. Although it is true that it is a pursuit of pleasure, pleasure was defined as moderation, reading, and thinking. Epicurus really liked quiet time. He believed that one of the worst things to do is to worry about the future. I think he promoted the zen concept of living in the Now, and not worrying about the Later. If we live in the Now and achieve tranquility, we are in the best possible state and inner peace will be ours.

An Early Morning

Good morning.. I’ve just gotten off the phone with Fall, and no doubtedly, I miss him already.  I won’t be able to talk to him for the rest of the day unless he calls me from work (which he usually does). For this post I just want to talk a bit about what I believe, personally.  First off, the Perennial Philosophy which is defined by Aldous Huxley as “the metaphysic that recognizes a divine Reality substantial to the world of things and lives and minds; the psychology that finds in the soul something similar to, or even identical with, divine Reality; the ethic that places man’s final end in the knowledge of the immanent and transcendent Ground of all being–the thing is immemorial and universal.”

I. There is a Universal Consciousness/”Divine” which is identical to the true nature of one’s self in everyone; our high self is this.

1.The Divine is both feminine and masculine, or none

II. The Divine Reality is the Divine in itself as it is, in harmony with the self as opposed to the high self.

this is heaven, nirvana, tao, etc.

III. To reach the Divine Reality inside of us is man’s final end, the purpose of life and reincarnation.

I am the tree in the woods and the sound of it falling.

Emptiness is defined in 10 main definitions:

1. Non-obstruction

2. All pervasive

3. equal

4. vast

5. formless

6. always pure

7. motionless

8. absolute negation

9. empty

10. unattainable

Existence and nonexistence are ultimately the same. Emptiness integrates existence and nonexistence.

The “Laws” of spirit:

1. Balance is the key

2. Choices- reclaim our power

3. Process- take life step by step

4. Law of Presence- live in the moment

5. Compassion- awaken our humanity

6. Faith- Trust in Spirit

7. Expectation- expand reality

8. Integrity- live our truth

9. Law of action- move into life

10. Law of cycles- dance to Nature’s song

11. Surrender- embrace a higher will

12. Law of Unity- remember our connection

“May quietness descend upon my limbs, my speech, my breath, my eyes, my ears. May all my senses wax clear and strong; May Brahman show himself unto me. Never may I deny the Brahman, nor Brahman me. I with him and he with me- may we abide always together. May there be revealed to me, who am devoted to Brahman, the holy truth of the Upanishads,.. OM.. Peace-peace-peace

The 10 bulls:

1. We search for the bull we have lost.

2.  We see footprints!

3. We glimpse the bull, right out of sight.

4. We find the bull and sieze it.

5. We train the bull.

6. We are now the master of the bull.

7. Everyone is happy.

8. Everyone transcends, truth takes over.

9. The bull was never lost.

10. We are enlightened.
